Francis Xavier
"Many thanks to Senior Counsel Francis Xavier for giving us the privilege of hosting the inaugural interview of Significant Alumni for the Raffles Hall 60th Anniversary Coffee☕Table Book 📖 , made possible by RH comrade Choo Meng Foo (AV Recording) and Mr Rendy Tan (RH Resident Fellow). What more meaningful locale than at the Old Raffles Building, where Francis first stayed as an Asean Scholar (NJC) #raffleshall60 — with Choo Meng Foo and Francis Xavier at NParks." Cheong Wai Yin

The speaker of the TEDxYouth@VJC talk Francis Xavier discusses the concept of gears, which he believes can help people achieve their goals and live a more fulfilling life.
The first gear is the "hot gear" which refers to living life based on your passions and feelings rather than just logic. Xavier says that the logical mind will get you lost and that true joy comes from following your passions.
The second gear is the "Pareto gear" which is based on the 80/20 rule. This principle states that roughly 80% of the results come from 20% of the causes. Xavier says that you should identify the 20% of your efforts that produce 80% of your results and focus on those.
The third gear is the "time gear" which is about managing your time effectively. Xavier says that many people complain that they don't have enough time but this is a pointless conversation. He suggests learning about your circadian rhythm and taking naps to optimize your energy levels. He also recommends the "8-minute vortex" which involves spending just 8 minutes a day on a task that you want to improve at.
The fourth gear is the "distinction fireball" which is about making healthy choices so that you can live a long and fulfilling life. Xavier says that many people make poor lifestyle choices such as eating unhealthy foods and not exercising and that these choices will eventually catch up with them. He encourages the audience to adopt healthy habits so that they can live a long and healthy life.
